Measuring Arbitrary Physical Properties in Analog Quantum Simulation

A central challenge in analog quantum simulation is to characterize desirable physical properties of states produced experiments. However, conventional approaches, the extraction arbitrary information requires performing measurements many different bases, which necessitates a high level control that present-day devices may not have. Here, we propose and analyze scalable protocol leverages ergodic nature generic dynamics, enabling efficient properties. The does require sophisticated controls can be generically implemented platforms today. Our involves introducing ancillary degrees freedom predetermined state system interest, quenching joint under Hamiltonian dynamics native particular experimental platform, then measuring globally single, fixed basis. We show original contained within such measurement data, extracted using classical data-processing procedure. numerically demonstrate our approach with number examples, including entanglement entropy, many-body Chern number, various superconducting orders systems neutral atom arrays, bosonic fermionic particles on optical lattices, respectively, only assuming existing technological capabilities. excitingly promises overcome limited controllability and, thus, enhance versatility utility near-term technologies.
